August 12, 2024 Water Haul
Another amazing group of volunteers met up in the desert with triple digit temperatures to haul water for wildlife Monday morning. Everyone filled their tanks and headed to the Newberry drinker for our third water hall to that location in the past 3 months. After that we broke up into different groups to fill three more locations.
These amazing volunteers donate their time, vehicles and the fuel required to drive hundreds of miles to provide water for wildlife. Thanks somehow doesn't seem enough but seeing Bighorn Sheep makes it all worth the effort.
Volunteers made runs to the Newberry Guzzler, Hanson Quarry, and Sawtooth on August 12, 2024. These Newberry Springs area guzzlers are so critically important in this area, crews filled them on July 15, 2024 and they're already low. According to volunteer Doug Appel, crews hauled the following amounts of water:
- Newberry Guzzler 3250 gallons
- Hanson Quarry 1600 gallons
- Sawtooth 1100 gallons
